Agnes G. Miller

Agnes G. Miller, age 97, formerly of Shelby, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Willows at Willard.

Agnes was born April 21, 1920 in North Auburn, Ohio to the late Joseph and Anna (Yaklin) Eberl. She married Leon B. Miller on April 21, 1942 and they shared 45 wonderful years together before he passed in 1987. Agnes and Leon raised twelve children on a farm, planting a big garden and canning the produce. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, playing cards, caring for small animals, and spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved her flowers. Agnes and Leon enjoyed many vacations together after raising their family. Agnes continued to travel with her friends.

Agnes was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, and St. Ann’s Society.

She was a loving mother of 12 children, 28 grandchildren, and 36 great grandchildren with two more on the way. Surviving children include: Harold (Jean) Miller of Shelby, Carol (Rick) Stokes of Galena, Mary (Harvey) Traxler of Shelby, Robert Miller of Ontario, Brother James Miller, M.S.C. of Ireland, Kathleen (William) Stanton of Shelby, Donna (Gary) Biglin of Shelby, Michael (Diana) Miller of Shelby, Diane (Thomas) Metzger of Crestline, and Deborah (Jeff) Pifher of Tiro.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband, Leon; 2 sons: Bernard and Kenneth; a son-in-law: Larry Fike; sisters: Catherine Meyers, Julia Meyers, Mary Trucks, and Frances Phillips; and 2 brothers: Frank Eberl and Julius Eberl.

Family and friends are welcome on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 2-5 pm at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where a rosary will be recited immediately following at 5 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 am at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 29 West Street, Shelby, with Fr. Chris Mileski officiating and Fr. Chris Bohnsack con-celebrating. Burial will follow in Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Willows at Willard and Heartland Hospice for their love and excellent care given to Agnes.
